Improving Workplace Safety with Certified Compex Electrical Training

Compex (Competency in Explosive Atmospheres) Training Certification is designed for professionals working in potentially explosive environments, such as oil & gas, chemical plants, and industrial facilities. This internationally recognized program ensures you have the knowledge and practical skills to safely install, inspect, and maintain electrical equipment in hazardous areas. Comply with IEC and ATEX standards, reduce risk, and demonstrate your commitment to workplace safety and technical excellence.

Dust

The CompEx Dust qualification has been designed for practicing electrical or instrumentation technicians who work in hazardous locations where combustible dust, fibers, or flyings can form an explosive atmosphere.

EXF

The CompEx Foundation qualification has been designed to provide an introduction into potentially explosive or flammable environments where gases, vapours and dust can form a hazardous atmosphere.

PLUS EXF

This unit covers the fundamentals of protection in explosive atmospheres, and is typically assessed alongside other industry-required competencies for operating, maintaining, or servicing plant and machinery.

IECEX 001

Covers basic protection principles in explosive atmospheres, based on IEC 60079. Assessed with related industry competencies in operations, maintenance, or installation.

IECEX 009

IECEx 009 covers hazardous area classification, risk assessment, and zoning, based on IEC 60079 and candidate work experience.

Mechanical

Ex11 covers safety practices for explosive atmospheres, area classification, equipment labeling, and protection concepts. It aligns with IEC 60079 standards and relevant national directives.

Gas & Vapours

CompEx Ex01–Ex04 is for electrical and instrument technicians working in gas or vapor hazardous areas. It includes hands-on training in a simulated environment and follows IEC 60079 standards.

IECEX 003

Covers safe installation, testing, and maintenance of explosion-protected equipment and wiring, with proper documentation.

CompEx EX 12 Application Design Engineer

CompEx Ex12 ensures design engineers are competent to specify electrical equipment in hazardous areas, meeting IEC 60079-14 requirements for design and selection.

IECEX Certification 004, 007, 008

The course includes presentations covering core skills, delivered in-class or through EUTEX e-learning. Candidates must enroll and complete the module.
