COURSE OVERVIEW

The IECEx 001 Basic Principles of Explosion Protection course at iSkills delivers foundational knowledge of explosion protection aligned to the IEC 60079 series. Covering protection methods, Ex markings, equipment certification, and compliance, it is open to all personnel, with no technical background required. Available as classroom or self-paced blended learning, 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Explosion protection checks and compliance methods

COURSE METHODOLOGY

Option 1 — Classroom + Assessment
1.5 days instructor-led training at an iSkills facility + 0.5-day assessment.

Option 2 — Blended Learning + Assessment
Self-paced online study + 0.5-day assessment. Ideal for shift workers and distributed teams.

Both pathways lead to the same IECEx 001 certificate.

Formation

The 2 days course include:

  • Theory only, with no practical elements, and various points of assessment throughout the course

CompEx Certification

  • IECEx Certificate of Personnel Competence — 001 successful candidates receive the IECEx Certificate of Personnel Competence 001 from an approved IECEx Certification Body. Enroll at iskills.co.
