Training Description

The Hydrogen Sulphide (H₂S) Rescue Training course is designed to prepare participants to recognize, respond to, and safely manage emergencies involving hydrogen sulphide gas — one of the most dangerous and fast-acting toxic gases encountered in oil and gas, petrochemical, and industrial environments. This course provides a clear understanding of H₂S properties, sources, health hazards, and detection methods. Participants will learn how to implement preventive measures, use personal protective equipment (PPE) and breathing apparatus, and carry out safe rescue operations in H₂S-contaminated areas.

Training Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the nature and properties of Hydrogen Sulphide (H₂S) and its behavior under different environmental conditions.
  • Recognize the health hazards and symptoms of H₂S exposure and implement immediate response actions.
  • Identify potential sources of H₂S and establish preventive control measures to reduce exposure risk.
  • Use H₂S detection and monitoring equipment correctly to ensure continuous atmospheric monitoring.
  • Select, inspect, and properly use respiratory protection such as self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and escape sets.
  • Execute safe rescue procedures in H₂S environments while ensuring personal safety and effective casualty evacuation.
